SF Climate Week 2024 Announces Two New Sponsors, Deloitte and Salesforce

Supporting SF Climate Week is part of a larger effort to drive local sustainability in the Bay Area and accelerate climate solutions globally.

SAN FRANCISCO (April 18, 2024) – Today, SF Climate Week 2024 announces two new sponsors, Deloitte and Salesforce, in collaboration with Climatebase and the City of San Francisco, to increase sustainability and the green economy in San Francisco. SF Climate Week is a week-long series of hundreds of community-led events taking place in the Bay Area from April 21 through April 27 focusing on solutions to the climate crisis both locally and globally.

"San Francisco Climate Week 2024, led by our team at Climatebase, is set to be among the largest and most impactful climate summits in the world, gathering over 15,000 attendees and over 750 organizations at more than 300 events taking place in San Francisco between April 21-27,” said Evan Hynes, CEO and Co-founder of Climatebase, the leading platform for climate careers and the organizer SF Climate Week.

“Following the incredible success of our inaugural summit in 2023, we are tripling the number of events and attendees this year for SF Climate Week 2024,” Evan continued. “Our team is thrilled to organize this second annual summit in collaboration with the City of San Francisco, our supporting sponsors, and hundreds of participating organizations to accelerate innovative approaches and take action on concrete solutions to address the climate crisis. We invite everyone to attend SF Climate Week, and together, join our community’s collective commitment, vision, and ambition to take on the greatest challenge of our time and build the better, sustainable, and more equitable future we know is possible.”

The addition of two new sponsors, Deloitte and Salesforce, and their support of SF Climate Week, is part of efforts to support local sustainability and green business initiatives, including the Yes San Francisco (Yes SF) Urban Sustainability Challenge. Yes SF is a collaboration among Deloitte, Salesforce, the World Economic Forum, Citi and the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce and more than 20 other organizations to harness the spirit of entrepreneurship and to help drive innovation for more sustainable and equitable living in cities around the world, starting in San Francisco.  Last Fall, 14 Top Innovators were selected by UpLink, the World Economic Forum’s open innovation platform, for their breakthrough ideas to bring new life to buildings,  infrastructure, and outdoor areas in downtown San Francisco. Each Top Innovator is receiving a suite of resources to help deploy, scale, and grow their solutions in San Francisco. These efforts align with SF Climate Week’s mission to accelerate the identification and implementation of climate solutions by bringing innovators and decision-makers together.

“SF Climate Week is helping to create a blueprint for urban transformation and provide potential solutions that are important to San Francisco’s identity as a hub for innovation,” said Alison Hagan, Managing Principal for Deloitte's San Francisco practice. “Deloitte is committed to environmental and social impact in the communities where we live and work, and we look forward to continuing to help create a more sustainable and equitable future.”

“We are thrilled to partner with SF Climate Week and share their goal of bringing people together across all sectors to accelerate climate solutions and empower collective action. Salesforce is committed to investing in innovation to help create a more equitable, sustainable, and vibrant San Francisco for all,” said Suzanne DiBianca, EVP and Chief Impact Officer at Salesforce.

During SF Climate Week, Salesforce will host their inaugural Climate & AI Summit. The event will bring together climate entrepreneurs, technology leaders, researchers, and funders to discuss how we can build and scale sustainable AI models and climate solutions. The event will be broadcast virtually on Salesforce+ on April 26 from 9-11am.

“San Francisco’s commitment to a sustainable future is not just a vision, it’s a growing movement,” said Tyrone Jue, Director of the San Francisco Environment Department. “As we gather for SF Climate Week, we are reminded that every idea, every innovation, and every effort counts in our collective journey towards a more resilient and equitable future. Together, we are not just adapting to change, we are the architects of change.”

SF Climate Week, one of the world’s largest and most impactful summits focused on climate and sustainability, will feature more than 300 unique events, with more than 15,000 attendees expected from California, the U.S. and other countries. SF Climate Week plays a crucial role in advancing discussions and action on climate change, with events scheduled across the city and Bay Area from April 21 through April 27. From professionally-oriented events focused on climate jobs, innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable investing, to more casual events like scheduled nature hikes, bike tours and ocean wildlife talks, there are opportunities for everyone to get involved, build community, and join the climate action movement.
